Leadership Team

Larry Cox, Board Chair

Larry Cox has spent his career in public service and commercial enterprises.  After his band didn’t get the “big contract” as a young man in the music industry, he embarked on a distinguished career in Intelligence and National Defense.

As an expert in cybersecurity, intelligence and defense systems, and systems engineering, to include space and aviation engineering, Larry served the United States in various capacities throughout his career. As a young man, he was in operations for a government agency for 11 years, including significant overseas service. Larry served as the first NSA TENCAP Officer providing direct support to the warfighter using national systems.

Leaving government, he joined General Electric Aerospace as a space systems engineer and advanced through project and program management to Chief Scientist, and served on the GE Aerospace Acquisition Team. He had the extraordinary experience of attending the GE Management Training Institute while Jack Welch was President.

He was serving as Business Development Manager at GE when he was recruited to be a non-partisan senior staff member with the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in Washington, DC.  Larry was responsible for programs and budgets for intelligence-related space and high-technology programs. He served three Chairmen and two parties.

After leaving Capitol Hill, he continued his service to our country by launching a high technology business providing much needed direct support to the warfighter during the pre- and post-9/11 era. The company also became a significant small business provider of software and testing to Boeing Space Systems. That business was acquired after six years by Lockheed Martin.

After 2 years as a Corporate Vice at Lockheed Martin, Larry was recruited to SAIC working out of Columbia, Maryland with offices globally. At SAIC, he grew a $100 Million business to nearly $800 Million in seven years, becoming number one in the Fort Meade area market. Larry and his team pioneered cryptologic and cybersecurity methods and techniques still in broad use today. This team achieved remarkable levels of customer affinity, and delivered on time, on cost in areas requiring major R&D breakthroughs and urgent production of reliable hardware and software.

After retiring from SAIC, Larry moved to Utah.  He is the  Owner and President of Western Slopes Security Services, LLC which provides cybersecurity, aerospace, technical and defense consulting services to government affiliated clients, and provided access control specialists for a key government data services facility in the Salt Lake Valley. He works hands-on with his clients ranging from high-performance team building and management consulting, to directly concocting cybersecurity  and other technical solutions. Larry is on the Board of Athenix Solutions Group and the RVJI Institute.  Larry is producing two feature motion pictures and writing scripts for more.
