Garrett County, MD

Alternative Lifecycles chose Garrett County as its first processing location because of the county’s well-developed transportation network with easy access to major markets and its business-friendly atmosphere.  Garrett County worked closely with Alternative Lifecycles to permit the first electric vehicle battery recycling/reclamation in the State of Maryland.

Alternative Lifecycles not only brings cutting edge technologies to Garrett County, but also the opportunity to provide well-paying jobs to county residents.

– Commission Board Chairman Paul Edwards.

Pillar Innovations was derived from its parent company, Beitzel Corporation, to focus on automation and electrical projects. Alternative Lifecycles has partnered with Pillar for their capabilities in automation and electrical, as well as engineering, custom machine building, robotics, communications, fiber optics, IoT, and fire suppression.

Alternative Lifecycles has chosen to partner with Redwood Materials to be the sole end-of-life recycler for the batteries we use after they’re utilized in our storage solution.

Alternative Lifecycles has partnered with ReJoule for their pioneering test technique to accurately, quickly, and reliably estimate a battery’s state-of-health (SOH). It takes 10 minutes or less, and can be performed by anyone with basic training – dramatically improving scalability.

Partnering With Us

Alternative Lifecycles joins forces with organizations at every step of the EV battery supply chain to accelerate our shared vision toward 24-hour clean energy.
